Lead me from the unreal to the real.
Brihadāranyaka Upanishad
Lead me from darkness to light.
Lead me from death to immortality.
Peace and peace and peace.
The yoga tradition addresses the deep longing of human beings to be stable and at ease in the world. Yet, life involves many changes and choices which need clarity and wisdom for us to be able to flourish.
Creative conversations aim to bring connection, compassion and companionship as we discover who we really are and a new future emerges. They help us to step out into the unknown with vitality, confidence and support.
Creative conversations have no easily defined form because they are adaptable and responsive to the things you want to explore. Creative conversations are a blend of approaches that might otherwise be called counselling, mentoring, supervision, coaching, dream analysis, philosophical teaching or spiritual direction. My role as your conversation partner is to hold space for you and your questions and to bring the insights of the yoga tradition to your life and concerns. Not all questions are conscious so we will bring a spirit of curiosity to our conversations as we dive beneath the surface to discover the treasure of the heart.
Some people find one conversation helps them to get over an obstacle while others may find that they need ongoing support for a period of time until they can find their wings and fly again. A few people find that the yoga tradition offers ongoing wisdom for their journey and these conversations become part of a discipline of self-examination. Yoga teachers in our tradition are required to commit to a regular pattern of conversations as part of their professional practice.
Creative conversations last for 50 minutes. They start where you want to begin and include purposeful silence. You will be offered a micro-practice whose shape emerges out of the conversation to help you keep alive the insights of the moment. This micro-practice could be something physical or a breath exploration. It might be a practice of noticing something or an ethical action. It might be a reading, writing or crafting practice. The offering is for you to savour and enjoy.
