Each person leaves an imprint on our lives. Some leave traces of generosity, love and friendship. I receive so much goodness from my students and they have supported me through the ups and downs of my life with loyalty and love. Gratefulness is the word that sums up my response to these bonds of love that are created through our years together as teacher and student. When a student dies my heart grieves deeply, as it did for my friend and student, Barbara, who died earlier this year. As a priest I was privileged to be able to conduct her funeral. Barbara had been a Samaritan and this was her path of mercy and compassion for those who were suffering with their mental health. It was costly work but she did it with great commitment and love We honoured that on Sunday evening by holding a yoga event called LANGHANA: THE ART OF A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP and raised £931 in her memory for the Samaritans. Rest in peace Barbara. Shanti, shanti, shanti.
