Unless we are creators we are not fully alive… Creativity is a way of living life, no matter our vocation or how we earn our living.
Madeleine l’Engle
Creativity brings you home. The yogic view is that your true identity is already in place but that you have to be committed to revealing it. This is very like the view of Michelangelo who said of his creative process, ‘The sculpture is already complete within the marble block, before I start my work. It is already there; I just have to chisel away the superfluous material.’ Yoga practice is innately creative as we birth new vision and understanding.
Creative practice is the conscious effort we make to chisel away the superfluous and the superficial in our lives so that we are content to live with stability and ease in the home of ourself. Your life is your greatest work of art.
To support your creative practice pop up workshops and events are offered each year. Some of these could be
- Yoga workshops using imagery, poetry and meditation
- Creative journaling courses
- Writing for wellbeing workshops
- Labyrinth walking
- Yoga nidra sessions
- Yoga sessions in partnership with art installations
- Craft sessions
